Frame Interpolation

Frame interpolation synthesizes new frames between existing ones by analyzing motion patterns and predicting intermediate positions. In lip sync workflows, frame interpolation can increase the output frame rate for smoother playback, fill in frames that the lip sync model skipped during processing, or smooth out transitions between generated mouth shapes.

AI-based interpolation methods use optical flow estimation and neural synthesis to produce intermediate frames that maintain temporal consistency and avoid ghosting artifacts. This is particularly useful when the lip sync model generates at a lower frame rate than the target output for efficiency reasons.
